Ross - making it look easy!

Shopping anyone?  Blaine, Kent and I went to Sailworks, then to Windance, and finally to the old 2nd Wind store - Stoked.  I managed to find a Kraken mast base, so I now have one for each of my boards.  It was about half of new - too much money, but it is probably the best I can do.  Blaine was looking at new life jackets/impact vests, but I don't think anyone else made any major purchases - that is certainly strange.

Around noon, Blaine went to the Event Site and had a really good day.  He said he is now foiling comfortably both directions, and getting better and this taxi turns.  He was stoked when I saw him at the end of the day.

Kent, Ross and I went to Moiser.  Kent was first out on this 3.9 wing.  I took my Swift board again with my 4.5m Wing and 909/375 foil.  I had a pretty good session.  I put on the new NSI foot straps that I had purchased at Windance.  They look odd, but worked pretty well.  I am getting a lot better at my foot switches and my jibes, but I wasn't comfortable enough to try my tacks yet.

Towards the end of the day, I guess I was very comfortable and confident, but also getting tired.  Then  I started to fall a bunch of times due to "Water Snakes".  Water Snakes, like "Snow Snakes" which are invisible critters sitting in the snow ready to catch your edge when you least expect it, I have decided that Water Snakes, while invisible, are waiting in the water to trip you up just like their winter cousins....  You are sailing along totally in control, and then Bam!  out of no where, the foil just goes crazy and you go over the front!

Kent - playing "Chicken" with a Paddle Wheeler

You don't realize how tired you are until you start having to climb on your board a bunch of times.  I started having trouble just climbing on that narrow board and standing up.....  Part of it was getting tired, and part of it was bigger swell.  My total for the day was about 35km (My watched stopped after 5km and was off for about a half hour before I noticed it and hit "resume").

When I got to shore, Kent and Ross were having a late lunch and enjoying the sun in the grassy area behind where they were parked.    They decided to head back out again.  I was done for the day, so I took a few photos before leaving.  I asked the guys to do a few runs close to the beach for some photos before they headed off up or down wind.  Ross got the message, but Kent never came close, although he said he though he had.  The wind had picked up.  Kent was still on his 3.9, but Ross had switched from his 4 to his 3.  They both said it was some of the best swell they have sailed at Moiser...  I guess I missed it!

Kent - starting his second session!

I stopped at the Event site briefly and met Blaine who was heading back to the beach for a beer.  He told me about his great day!

We all did our own thing for dinner, and all headed to bed early.  More Advil all around!

What can I say - another great day!
